Things I don’t get – Right Kind Of Sleep

I just don't get it

I never thought sleeping was a hard business – I kept falling asleep a lot in school.

But nowadays I seem to have severe problems in that department …

Monday: couldn’t sleep because I was freezing – too lazy to get up and grab another blanket

Tuesday: was sleeping with two blankets – too stupid to get rid of one during my nightmares, thanks to severe sweating dehydrated to some state of unconsciousness

Wednesday: went to bed early – big mistake should’ve had some dinner first, very hungry, in fact to hungry to get up and have midnight snack

Thursday: ate a lot so I wouldn’t suffer empty stomach – good idea carried out poorly, had to go to the bathroom every hour or so, not much sleep apart from the hour I doze off while on the john

Friday: severe insomnia caused by panic attacks whenever I saw my bed – took some valerian drops and slept on the sofa

I can’t help thinking I’m doing something fundamentally wrong here …

  1. Sorry to hear you’re not sleeping well. Poor sleep makes life suck. Wish I had a helpful suggestion…

  2. One thing I have learned is to avoid caffeine after say 4 pm

  3. Dude… Cayenne pepper in your socks at night, use 1 blanket; sleep with 1 hand in a bucket of warm water… you won’t dehydrate but will need to change the sheets in the morning; 2 shots of bourbon before bed…you may sweat and have nightmares, but you won’t care; snack before bed even if you had dinner… take with a lot of cheese… you won’t be up that night, but won’t be able to hit the can either… lessor of 2 evils; When the insomnia hits, take the valerian drops with the bourbon… then you won’t care what happens. 😀 Good luck.

I admire a person who does not give up! Have you tried putting carrots in your ears, raw not cooked? They’ll keep out disturbing sounds while creating a sort of ‘white noise’ to lull you to sleep. An added bonus is they’ll also dicourage you from rolling over. If you sleep on your back you won’t get as many face wrinkles. You’ll be well rested and stay youthful looking at the same time.
