About me

Who are you? – You may call me Turber.

Not a filthy pervert! Just unhappy and depressive that’s not the same, you know.

Not on medication, any kind of drugs are totally boring, they just make me sad and sleepy.

Not really feelin’ at home on this planet, don’t know why.

Where did you get your sense of humor? – What humor!?

Are you a boy or a girl? – Yes, dear.

Guilty pleasures: Envy other people’s perfect lives.

Especially fashion blogs (pretty people, in pretty clothes, with no problems

like: “I’m out of tissues, either I stop crying myself to sleep every night or I go to the store,  buy a tremendous amount of new boxes.”

You wanna follow me into the rabbit hole? The entrance is: here

Thank you for “Liking” my post Reflections of a decade in Pantone colors. Interesting take on life, you have. Yes, I channeled Yoda in order to make a nice connection, but I digress. I look forward to reading more of your posts.

You’re very welcome to participate and bring yourself in or channeled wisdom of the wise Yoda. Doesn’t really matter, come to my humble abode and have a good time. 🙂

Alan, Schmalan, I thought you meant me! I did appreciate your visit to my blog today. My wife, I believe, would be agreement with you – but me not him. Old writer, slow reader – starting to read your site. Thanks.

      • Turber says:

Come on, Alan Rickman came along before you – it’s not fair to blame me worshipping him!
And when you finished reading this blog, you might become a fan of his, too – if that’s the case, let me know. 😉

  5. Nice ‘About’ page. To the point -and funny. Thanks for stopping by YoYo-Dyne. Think I’m gonna have to keep my eye on you.
Twisted minds so enjoy each other.
Oh, and anyone with ‘Marcel Proust’ and ‘strangled’ in their tag cloud is okay by me.

    • Turber says:

Sounds like I have a new stalker, that’s cool – feeling incredibly flattered, in a good way actually. Feel free to enjoy yourself as much as you can in my very humble abode, you’re always welcome here. *offering cookies and a cozy blanket* 😉

Hi Tuber. After reading your About Me, I feel like what you’re looking for is Jesus. I hope that doesn’t sound cliche… just thought I’d share.

  10. 60fairlane says:

Greetings from the steep end of the WordPress learning curve, this is all new to me posting, replying etc. Who is Alan Rickman?? my wife says that I would recognize him.
    All the best.

    • Turber says:

Well, Alan Rickman is one of the finest actors alive! Maybe you saw him in “Die Hard” or “Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves” or more lately as Snape in the “Harry Potter” movies. And obviously your wife has good tastes 😉

  11. Jeff Vrabel says:

Turber, thanks for the Like and the stop-by, and I fully support any and all of your future Alan Rickman-related endeavors

  18. David Wilkerson says:

Thanks, Turber, for liking my post I know I should write something witty as a tribute to your “like” but I have less wit tonight than usual. You, on the other same, seem to be anything but wit-less.

    • Turber says:

Thank you, dear! Don’t worry there is a new day every day followed by a night, maybe you wanna try later? Would be glad to see you around soon … 😀

  19. Turber,

I feel like an alien most of the time too. (Okay, all of the time.) That’s why I live in the late 1800’s, but now with “Cowboys and Aliens,” I’m f*cked.

    Uncle

  20. Hey Turber, what kind of name is that? Hm. Turber. It’s not in my dict. Stopping by my block, liking my scribbles about a HOPELESS business plan is kind of… nice. But I can’t thank you. I’m biased you see. Gosh, can’t believed you liked it… Really? Anyhow, would you mind going back and unlike it? Because I feel pressure building up…. commitment. You know. I wish I had another blog. Do you mind if I copy your “about” section? It really sounds like me when I’m not lying and faking it. I’m open blog switching too. Just so you know okay. Bye.

    • Turber says:

Anette, dear, I really appreciate your attempt to … show me how much you care?
See, I feel enormously flattered – you took a nice effort to write me a really weird long comment. I’ve not the faintest ideal what you’re talkin’ about, but that’s fine my place is a shelter for seriously misunderstood creatures. 🙂

      • Dear Turber. Thanks for understanding and letting me hang out in your place. You are a very generous person. I will hang out okay, scrolling the page up and down and enjoy the build-in sunset, when background goes from royale blue to mustard yellow. That is very clever. You know. I thought so. I might copy that too. Happy Pats Day and congrats on the leprechaun money. Bye.

      • Turber says:

Thanks for all the kudos. Happy St. Patrick’s Day, Anette! 🙂

  21. Thanks for liking my post: Those Were the Daze. I’m sure I’ll be back here too.

  22. drgeraldstein says:

I haven’t met anyone with a perfect life, so I’m not so inclined to envy others. What I’ve discovered is that we tend to compare our insides to other people’s outsides; and it only makes us feel bad. They probably aren’t doing as well as you might think, even if they do have nice clothes.

  23. Wow, what an Alan Rickman fan! Thanks for stopping by my blog to like!

  24. Turber,
THANKS for visiting my “pun-ny” photoblog and leaving a like. Come back and visit often, but don’t let me cheer you up TOO much. (You have a fan base who likes you just the way you are).

Still, during the coming year I wish you vivid moments of delirious joy (not chemically induced). –John

    • Turber says:

Thanks, I feel confused and flattered – but mostly flattered, I think. 🙂

      • I meant it to be affirming. –J.

      • Turber says:

Well, I’m very sensitive, to cheer me up real good, it needs more than understatement. Good old shameless flattering – for example! 😀

      • How’s this, then: You are refreshingly honest about your vulnerability and take chances sharing so much of yourself in the hope of connecting. And you ARE connecting. Although I have a well-received humor blog, I relate to your questioning, to your sense of not quite belonging, to your longing for life to be MORE.

While you may not feel totally in charge of your life, your experiences–including successes and disappointments–give you a perspective that is unique. And that is something you CAN claim and own and share: your perspective. People will try to tell you you are right or wrong about your outlook on life, but until you feel something is true in your soul, it is just so many words.

While you might feel like you have been running from life, your blog shows that you have been on a quest, as noble a quest as there ever has been, the quest for the reason for your existence. And to show that THIS is not just so many words, I have just joined you on your quest.

        I just subscribed.

        –John

      • Turber says:

        Dear John,
I feel pleasantly shocked, caught, and relieved. You took quite an effort to have a serious and deep look at me. It makes me realize how special you are. I feel honored to be appreciated by someone, who has the ability to read between the lines, and sees honest efforts in what I’m trying to do. I’d like to thank you for seeing truth and its beauty. I thank you for your wish to take a look at the world through my eyes. I’m glad you joined me on my journey – I’ll feel less alone that way. I’m touched by your message, and still can’t believe, what amazing individuals are out there, and my great luck to get in touch with them.
        Turber

      • A few years ago our office of 30 people was led through an elaborate “Personal Strengths Inventory” by a consultant. I was the only one in the whole group whose #1 strength was “Empathy.”

So, by visiting my blog and leaving a “like,” you started a conversation with “Mr. Empathy”! –J. 🙂

      • Turber says:

That explains a lot!!! You get an outstanding from me and an “A”. Sir Empathy, Lord of the human abysses. 😀

  25. just *k says:

Thanks for the visit Turber. Company is always nice, well not always -but it’s nice to have. Anyway, I’m glad I dropped by, it was a deliciously dark time. Thanks again!

  26. oddmanout215 says:

Thanks for checking out my post. I like your blog — the content and design. Nice storm clouds!

  27. Satis says:

    Hey Turber!

You liked me the other day, and that’s something. I’m trying to work out if your blog is sincere, cynical, or simply subversive; your themes and style are reminiscent of myself, many years ago, and I often find myself missing the days of dark depression. Just don’t let it get too much! By the way, I was confused by the zealousness of your Alan Rickman obsession, but now that I think about it, it makes perfect sense.

    • Turber says:

Don’t overstrain yourself, dear. Some mysteries may be never solved. And be careful about the Alan Rickman obsession – it’s contagious. 😉

  28. luckyluwi says:

Hey there, Sunshine. I’m sure you get this all the time…I nominated you for The Sunshine Award. Congrats! You’ve brought the sunshine in with you! Your friend, Lweendo @luckyluwi
    another award for you 🙂

  29. Lol…love your open honesty!!

  30. Turber. I’m glad you like the Futility of Existence. Might as well be happy about it, right?

  31. Sqwares says:

Thanks for the blog like chief.
I take it you’re a wee bit of a geek like me?
    Consider yourself followed!!

  32. lisamarielawler says:

I’ve just read some of your posts, you’re hilarious. Hope I can call an unhappy, depressive that? Thanks for stopping by and liking. Look forward to reading more of yours!

  33. lise13 says:

Hey thanks for visiting and liking my post, it is appreciated. I will be following yours it’s awesome. Cheers

  34. Anna F. says:

Nice to meet you, Turber. I hate fashion blogs as well.

    • Turber says:

Nice to meet you, too, Anna. I don’t hate fashion blogs, dear! They just make me sad – pretty weird I know … 😉

      • They make me sad as well. Mostly because I have worn a size 14 to an 18 for the last 35 years. I can’t wear (or afford) anything in those mags. They just make me feel depressed, fat and indigent.
Proof again that my doctors (and their receptionists) are all f**king sadistic bastards.
Now if I could find a fashion blog that catered to women with curves -and didn’t feature loose fitting ugly mumus all would be good-

      • Turber says:

Someone like you, dear (I love your wicked sense of humor) doesn’t need fashion to be ravishing, your disciples adore you anyway. And always remember we’re born naked – what does that tell you? 😉

      • Hmmmm it tells me that I was born a size 12 and Mom could still shop for me in the Juniors section?
But seriously ladies and germs, I thank you for the reality check xo

      • Turber says:

I don’t know anything about reality – I have my own realm! 😉

  35. You are hilarious. i think we may have been cut from a similar cloth. I am ever so glad you found me so i can now follow your brilliantly jaded view on life!

  36. Very interesting blog!

Love the blog, thanks for the giggles and I agree about Alan Rickman… maybe it’s the voice, yep think it’s the voice, it has a deep steamy element to it… nice 😉

  41. Thanks for stopping in and liking my post. I really appreciate the encouragement.

  42. Guilty pleasures: I love it! 😉
Well, aren’t we? We’re not a hypocrite people that keeps on telling that we aren’t jealous about something. But good thing is, we can improve ourselves and think positive instead of hurting our own feelings by simply thinking about negative thoughts. 🙂

  45. It left me senti and laughing at the same time!

  46. Jeff Vrabel says:

Thanks again for the like! ALSO ORANGE SUCKS. Sorry. Just trying to help out.

    • Turber says:

I never thought there could be so much controversy about ORANGE – it’s killing me.
People hate it or love it – and they tend to hate me, if they love it.
      It’s getting weird!
      What have I done?!

  47. Hi there! Thanks for stopping by my blog today and liking my recent post. I’m looking forward to delving a little deeper into your work here. Looks like great stuff! 🙂

Thanks for checking out my Pawlandia blog. I truly appreciate it. Glad you stopped by, too because I read your stuff, and the About Me page is quite entertaining – whether you intended that or not. That Gravatar is awesome, too. Did you design that?

  53. sandrabranum says:

I know what you mean. When you’re beautiful, you can write about fancy clothes and makeup and all that stuff. When you’re just you, you can write about tissues, hysteria, and what ever else moves you including buying tissues. I can so empathize!

  54. alundeberg says:

Thanks for stopping by and liking my post. I enjoyed your Alan Rickman post (I enjoyed him so much in Sense and Sensibility) and your Titanic post, even though the movie made me ill. (I have a fear of heights and being under water, so when the ship broke in half and part of it shot straight into the air to begin the long sinking process…. yeah, not good.)

  55. LauraLee says:

Thank you for your “like” on my recent post.

I hope you’re getting your fair and healthy share of lollygagging this weekend.
