Time Warp

I’m having déjà-vu after déjà-vu, driving me crazy.

Daylight saving time a natural killer of brain cells.

I have constantly the feeling of: been there done that.

I’m confused, at times I forget what day it is – I’m stuck on Sunday, I deny the existence of Mondays.

Getting out of bed, taking a shower, having breakfast – I could swear I’ve done that before!

I have no idea how many breakfast-coffees I had today, or yesterday, or the day before, but I’m trembling.

I guess, my shaking body might be some sort of alarm signal.

What would Captain Picard do, Mr. Spock suggest, or Dr. McCoy prescribe?

Daylight saving time – I’d rather save my sanity than daylight – there’s a new day every day, but you’re only given a limited amount of brain cells.

The mailman resembles Data more from day to day – I guess I watched too many episodes of …

… damn I can’t remember!

Well, probably I’m just tired, I should get me a coffee.

You shouldn’t drink too much coffee, but if you can’t,but if you can not avoid being entangled in its nets try at least the decaffeinated!!
About that feeling you have “been there, done that”,I’m afraid you are not the only one,so welcome to this club.If you don’t do all those things would be quite difficult to live close to you !!I guess(the shower is essential). But yes,I understand you, everyday life can be hopeless and stressful. But here there is an all ears Dr. Friend 🙂 What can I do for you?

  2. Next Stop, Willoughby says:

It usually takes me about a month to get used to DST. Until then, I feel as if Rod Serling is waiting for me around every corner.

  3. You COULD just rebel and refuse to adopt Daylight Savings Time. It could work if you have a flex-time job, never have to go to meetings or meet a friend for lunch.

An amusing post! I loved the line, “I’d rather save my sanity than daylight .” 🙂

  4. magsx2 says:

    Hi,
I think there are a lot of people that would love to forget Mondays existed. 😀

  5. hmm. i feel like i’ve done this before, like i’ve been here before. have i? i am not sure. i do know that dr jenny would prescribe a xanax with her coffee.

but why does that feel familiar too?

  6. DST IS difficult but I’m usually good in about a week!

  7. Katrina says:

I’m sure coffee is not the problem, coffee is never the problem, only the solution, or at least the comfort until you find the solution, Dr McCoy would say you need more rest, Scotty would say you’re giving it all you got and there ain’t no more, Mr Spock would say your logic has failed you and Captain Picard and Captain Kirk would both find a way to rewind time, maybe orb you out then move the ship with light speed then orb you back in, but I think that’s what the government did with daylight savings time 😉

  8. BL says:

Thanks for dropping by Turber. Nothing can save us from the misery caused by DST. Coffee might help to distract us though. But when would you make it? 7 o’clock pre DST or 8 o’clock post DST?

  9. bigron42 says:

    I’m just a guy with a limerick reply…

Daylight Savings time is just a game,
    To some it is really insane;
    It screws up our lives,
    What a thing to contrive,
I think it is awfully lame.

  10. Let’s see, lots of déjà vu, a constant feeling of having “been there, done that”, you’re stuck on Sunday and Mondays don’t exist for you… Are you being assaulted everyday by Sonny & Cher’s “I Got You Babe”? Because if so, you’re not suffering from DST, you’re actually stuck in a Groundhog Day-type time loop… (Hopefully you’ve seen that movie, otherwise I just sound like a crazy person) 😛

  11. i mayfly says:

Maybe that was Yogi Berra’s problem also? Mr. “It’s deja vu all over again.” All his Yogisms are a result of his discombobulation with the time change? Just a thought.

Thank you for stopping by and the like. Hope you get biorhythms back in sync soon. – Nikki

    • Turber says:

Thanks Nikki, I really don’t know what kind of problems Yogi Bear might have. As soon as I’ve sorted out my problems, I’ll delve into his. 😉

Have you seen me out your window yet?

  13. Even my dog hates DST. Maybe we’ll move to Arizona or Hawaii.

  14. rodalena says:

“Set a course for Arizona, Number One.”
    “Arizona, Captain?”
“They don’t have this moronic idiocy called Daylight Savings Time.”
Riker’s eyebrows raise. His hair moves slightly. “Really? Wow, Captain, you know everything. I guess that’s why they gave you four pretty brass dots and I only have three. Course laid in, sir.”
Piccard sighs and wonders why he is stuck in deep space with such a passel of idiots.
    “Engage.”
    —-
“Sir…we’ve encounter a very strange life form.”
    “Explain.”
“Not sure how to begin, Captain. He calls himself a ‘John McCain’.”

  15. kewsmith says:

I’m for a nationwide boycott of DST. I think it has passed any usefulness.

  16. Joe Pineda says:

Hilarious, very stream of consciousness. Daylight savings time is destroying me too, but with spring break coming and work being a little lax recently, I’m having an easier time adjusting.

  17. EllaDee says:

There is a huge conspiracy going on… everything we do, we’ve done before. Life is robotic & repetitive… we need a cause or a rebellion. Getting out of bed, taking a shower, having breakfast – I could swear I’ve done that before! Yeeeesss, we have. I’m confused, at times I forget what day it is – I’m stuck on Sunday, I deny the existence of Mondays. What’s not normal about that? Sadly I don’t have “groundhog” days, I have “groundhog” weeks. PS. Excellent post. EllaDee

  18. aFrankAngle says:

Not confused here … bring it on! But wait, this is only my second visit here. See … I came back.

  19. altheasarah says:

You’re probably just tired 🙂 LOL.

  20. Spider42 says:

Hmmm… sounds like some days I’ve had – hope your proper continuum reasserts itself sooner or later.
    Cheers!

  21. Jas says:

Thanks for dropping by Turber. so life is seemingly repetitive… break the cycle now…

  22. DST….It takes weeks (months) to adjust then they sock you with Standard Time. It’s all a conspiracy, I tell you!

Enjoy the coffee, life is short anyway.

  23. Jane says:

Alas, I love daylight saving time. Of course, I also love Star Trek marathons, butterflies and bunnies, so I’m not to be completely trusted. More light means less time slogging in the mud *in the dark* during storms. I’d much rather see clearly where I’m going to face plant….

  24. Zee says:

Hi Turber thanks for stopping on my blog. I say bottoms up on the coffee…be a rebel LOL, hope you keep reading 🙂

  25. Lynn says:

I have nominated you for the Sunshine Award .Look at Autumn an Gabrielle blog to see what you do. Hugs, Lynn.
    Congrats!

  26. artblablablablog says:

In Arizona we don’t “celebrate” daylight savings. We just watch it get lighter earlier and stay lighter later…WTF?

  27. Dave says:

Politicians – they can agree on the need to save time so they can get in an extra hour of golf in the summertime but they can’t agree on saving the planet…Thanks for visiting,T!

  28. I love daylight savings time. It lets me take more pictures during the day!

  29. Me, I’d drink whatever it took to keep me upright….

  30. Simply Tim says:

My grandfather refused to accept DST. He never reset his watch.

    “What time is it?”
    “Your time or mine?”

  31. Moe says:

You are officially funny! Edgy too. And a little twisted. I like that!

And I disdain Daylight Savings Time. Hate it, hate it, hate it. When I was younger I beleived in the power of social protest and thought i could get a little something going to get rid of the hated DST. No one was interested.

    • Turber says:

Thanks, dear, I feel so endlessly blessed – now that someone finally declared officially my wickedness humor. Sorry, your campaign failed – I know very well how failure hurts, I live it on a daily basis. 😉

  32. Hmm.. many a times even i feel that i’ve done this before. Even most of my dreams seems to repeat again and again making me go crazy. But you should avoid drinking more of coffee that makes you in more of in state of hallucination. Take care!
